The short version
Leafic is built to keep your garden private to your phone. We don't have accounts. We don't run servers. We don't track you. We don't sell anything. We don't use analytics.
The only data that leaves your device is the photo you choose to diagnose, which we send to Google's Gemini API to get an answer back. Google doesn't store those photos or use them to train their AI (we're on the paid tier where that's explicitly excluded). Everything else — your plant journal, your photos, your notes — lives on your iPhone in storage no one else can access.
If you delete the app, your data goes with it.

Who we are
Leafic is made by Mehad Nadeem, an independent developer based in Ireland. This policy covers the Leafic iOS app (bundle identifier com.leafic.app) on the Apple App Store.
What we collect
| Data | Where it lives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Plant photos you take | Your iPhone's app storage | So you can see them in your plant journal |
| Plant photos at moment of diagnosis | Sent to Google Gemini API for processing, not stored on any Leafic-owned server | So the AI can identify the plant and write a diagnosis |
| Your skill level setting | Your iPhone's app storage | So advice adapts to your experience level |
| Your approximate location, if you grant permission | Your iPhone's app storage, included as a city-level text label in API requests | So advice fits your climate and season |
| Your saved plants, notes, action history | Your iPhone's app storage | So the journal works across sessions |
